New Layout Soon =)
Sunday, May 26, 2013
Hey guys, I've been on an extremely long hiatus! Well, pleased to say my blogging career might start again! So many things have happened lately, I really don't want to tick them off one by one, but its been whirlwind and I've been feeling unexpected fatigue, so I guess I've been busy.
I've realized that when I first started blogging, it was to express, not impress, and I've lost touch of that. So from now on, I'll blog what I want to, and not try to think of other people. After all, its my life. =) My blog is just me, and not all about reviews and tutorials but I feel like I've been trying to impress and I really do not put my heart to it, so this long break was a breath of fresh air.
Also, I'm planning to change my layout into something more simple looking, not confusing and just plain, because I feel like there's too much going on. Simplicity is key, and will always be the guide to life openings, right?
The only problem? I don't have a blog header, so instead of designing one from scratch, there's going to be a photo shoot on one of the weeks, and from there I'll edit it into a header. Simplicity.
Well, I guess I'll stop here and get on with designing. Till then!
XOXO

Malaysian General Election 5/5
Sunday, May 5, 2013
Hello readers.
For most of you who are not familiar with me, my name is Samantha Lee and
I am indeed, from Malaysia. If you watched the news, you would understand that today, is an enormous day, for us Malaysians, because it is the election day, the long awaited day after all the speeches given, to persuade Malaysians into casting their ballot papers, for them.
Two, very important parties,
the Pakatan Rakyat and the Barisan National, both of whom, is heavily being supported. And if you are my Facebook friend, well then, I am sincerely sorry for spamming your wall, but this election means a lot to me.
The government, who has been ruling for a long time, is Barisan National, and now the opposition wants to sweep in and
UBAH, the motto they used this year, which means Change. As my homepage floods with notifications, as my friends and I closely monitored the freshly tallied votes, I write to you.
I personally feel, that you should vote for whomever makes you feel like they
WILL make a change, but sadly this year, the news reports, ads, and speeches given by
BN, was centered on what they HAD done. People remember, but if your campaign strategy is to again, and again force your deeds that you have once done for the citizens, into their faces, it gets tiring, and
very very, annoying. So I stand here to tell you that the citizens want to hear what you will provide to us, not what you once did. Sadly, it is too late, the results are rushing in.
As for Pakatan Rakyat, they have indeed, tell us what we wanted to hear, but they also took the time to trash the opponent. I am not, however, completely against this, seeing as how
Obama and Romney also had a national debate, mostly contributing critical response on one another's policy. Perhaps this is the definition of Politics. It adds the political spice to national crisis like this, does it not?
Nevermind that. I just want all of you to know, they win or lose, there will be another five years for both parties to prove again, what they can bring to the Malaysians. Malaysians aspire more than just that RM100, or that book voucher, or the
free WiFi (though this offer is very cool). Honestly, I think there is more to that. We are not children, whom will be bribed by small gifts with momentary happiness and no value at all.
We are smart enough to know what to demand, and who to demand it from. The question is, which party will win and truly, carry out the voice of the Rakyat
(citizens). After years of BN's never changing policy, instead the education system being thrown around -- because apparently, the youth of Malaysia is all just a big experiment, aren't we? -
-WE WANT A CHANGE. In case you don't know, WE, MALAYSIANS, are truly smart enough to understand what we want.
That is why this time, I root for
Ubah, a change, and I hope, that change will guide me to a better system, that will change me into a better person. Because this system I have been living under, has morphed me into somewhat, racist. There, I have admitted it.
I am, racist. I am sorry if you want to put on a mask, and act like you love all, but truly, everyone I know, has a limit, and deep inside they judge races. A lot.
And now, the education system is slowly morphing me, and everyone around me, into immoral students. Even the teachers seem stressed, with complaints being thrown around, and again, I want you all to sit down and realize, that maybe the teachers are not that wrong. Maybe the system was wrong.
We learn science, cells, then tissues, that organs, then systems. We know if a system dies, the organs must have done something wrong. The tissues, and the cells. The cells? You. That one person, who can ruin it all, or fix it all. By one vote.
Yes, the voting starts. And ends, and as Malaysians sit by to wait for the state's results. Penangites everywhere are forced to contain their excitement, but instead go home, and solemnly wait until Lim Guan Eng sends out a tweet that calms them down, hopefully it says, "Streets of Penang, now unblocked. It is safe to go out and celebrate our winnings!"
But I have a lot of reasons to believe that tweet won't be sent out. Why?
Kiasu, or sore losers.
Indeed, everyone is a Kiasu at heart. But, as kiasu as I will be, (exiting a game, because I know I am losing that round of Uno, hee hee) I do not sit on a motorcycle, armed with a stick, wearing a BN shirt to cause a riot.
I am not calling out BN supporters. I know, not all of you, are like that. (who knows, pakatan also has kiasu right?)You really, do, truly support, but SOME of you decided that losing is indeed, a hard fall and once you get up, you start injuring the people who won.
People are being warned, streets are being closed, police trucks being sent out and people trapped in buildings. All in fear of a curfew. Why, are people such sore losers?
Do you, gangsters, find the pleasure in bashing up people who solely voted for a change? I truly hope you change your ways. A true gentleman accepts a fall, but from the act of self proclaimed *democracy* that you performed, those gangsters out there, with BN shirts, you are far from being men.
You still have a long climb out of infancy.
An infant, trashes around until it gets what it wants. Are you that, BN? Do you truly believe, that we, will let you trash around, exactly 5 years ago, only to see you demand a state back like we are refundable, and exchangable?
We are people, we have a voice, and you make us believe that we have an outlet to say it. The elections, of course. But when you take our voices, alter it and make it your own, that is not a fair and clean election, it just turned into another weapon to contribute for
corruption.
We do not change a system, so that a person can catch up. We change a system, solely to be better, even if it means PMR, even if it means, exams will be harder. Sadly you do not understand this principle. But who am I to teach you principles, when I am given so many Moral definitions to memorize, so that I'm a better person, or is it just another burden, that you issued out with a little sprinkle of immaturity ? Please explain.
I truly hope, whichever government that governs after this election, hear our voice as it is, raw and authentic.
Hear it, then take it or leave it. Do not make compromises, offers that we do not like, carry it out and then ignore us. Then when a controversy stirs up, we get the blame, don't we?
The Rakyat are NOT united, no matter how many songs you compose to make us believe we are, to this point where streets are closed,
threatening a national curfew, similar to 40 years ago. I only ask one thing today, to be heard.
To be cared for, because your self proclaimed 1 Malaysia, Rakyat Voice, it never ever, helps us.
What difference is there , from us to a communist country? We might as well be one, should we not?
This GE13 means a lot, so that everything changes. As a youth, I truly hope that the Malaysian government hears us and understands that we, citizens also
have a say in how you govern the country. This is not a monarchy, so please stop acting like one.
I respect both BN, and Pakatan Rakyat supporters. I just hope both sides accept the results, and do not bash people with sticks out of kiasu-ness.
The opportunity is out, we just need to be brave enough to reach for it.
Thank You.

Tonsilitis and Absence
Tuesday, April 23, 2013
Hey guys, sorry for the no reviews, no tutorials and not even a simple blog post lately. I know I've promised a lot like a Draw My Life, and like redesigning, but I have several reasons on why I could not post a lot.
Number one, I had tonsillitis! I could not swallow food, at all, and only drank liquids, and for that I have lost 3kgs, and now I'm really weak and tired. So, I'm really sad.
Another one, is I went to a trip, with my grandparents, sadly I was sick. And I did not want to take pictures of the food I could not swallow.
Lastly, my exams are coming up, so yes, there will be less blogging until the mid of May but I hope all of you would keep up with me!
I really hope I can start a food blog, or a beauty blog when I grow older, but for now, I have no time to cook all the time, or do beauty things all the time. So yea.
God bless, and I pray for everything that has been happening nowadays. Stay close to your family. =)
Take care of your health, because it pains me. I'm getting better though.

Take a Moment : Boston Marathon Bombing, 15th April 2013
Tuesday, April 16, 2013
Today, I was shocked with a news that two
bombs were planted in a marathon track, and blew up a lot of people, resulting in lost of limbs, legs, hands and for 3 people,
death.
I want everyone in
Boston to know, I am
all the way across the continent, and I have never paid attention to everything that happened. But after seeing the pictures of the event,
I felt sick. I felt uncomfortable. Because today was supposed to be splendid day, and I came home to be blasted with CNN's news of what happened today.
My sincere condolences to everybody.
Everyone must have had their fair share of loosing someone in your life. For me, it happened to quite a few relatives, and one whom I was very close to, as a child. And when I think of this, to see your
love ones, just shredded across the streets of the marathon, and not knowing what to do, its just so sick.
I have planned that before I slept, I would
pray. I pray for all of you that you will move on quickly.
It is just extremely hard, and I know, that no matter what outsiders say, its not the same. We were not witnesses, we were not victims.
All we can offer now, is our grief and mourning. Please,
stay strong.
For those of you who do not know what happened, please click here to view the New York Time's report.
Full details are not out. This is a terrible, gruesome and the most cruel way that you could kill and injure innocent people who wanted to get together, and exercise for a good cause.
People like to tell you,
" its okay, things will get better."
But I won't say any of that. I just want to tell you that...
All of you out there, are not alone. So many people are sharing the same grief with you, lying on the hospital bed, or staring into their love ones, desperately waiting for them to wake up, or setting up funerals.
So please,
do not loose the will to live on. And for the survivors out there,
God bless, and I hope all of you, as well as me, have
realized the value of life through this.
Anyone that live near the Boston region, or maybe the US and Canada, visit this Red Cross site, to see how you can help the brave people who took the explosions and lost everything.
If you live anywhere near the scene of tragedy, please visit the Red Cross site to learn how you can help.
As for people living in corner of the world, you can help too.
Please click here to see how you, from all over the world, because you can help, no matter how small your community is, or how tiny your country is.
Just remember this, to everyone reading, the little help counts. A little prayer, is so appreciated.
Love life, and know that nobody walks this journey alone.

My Plans: Draw My Life
Saturday, April 13, 2013
Hey guys! If you guys are Youtuber Fanatics, like me, you probably know the Draw my Life video! If you don't check it out!
I THINK it was created by some dude called Sam Pepper, and he's British, and I like his accent.
Whatever.
So, basically everyone started doing that video, like thedominincshow, nigahiga, jennamarbles, smosh and mysteryguitarman!
Check out NigaHiga's one! He's a Hawaiian youtuber that is WAY WAY WAY TOO YOUTUBE-FAMOUS. HE'S SO FUNNY. WATCH HIS.
Actually, Draw My Life videos are just basically you, drawing your life on a whiteboard and rubbing it after every scene, and also giving a voice over. The drawing video is sped up too, watch it and you'll know what I mean!
But Ryan Higa's was animated so that his marker pen drawings came to life and I really enjoyed it. Watch a few more!
Jenna Marbles, an Americano blond that rants, and she's funny. But she curses a LOT so pg18 or illegally watching this 13 year olds, I know you. I KNOW. BECAUSE I AM ONE TOO.
This was drawn really well, so I liked it.
Dominic, ryan's youtube friend!
So I had an idea, to do a draw my life video. I actually did one on a trip to Singapore, but my camera ran out of battery, so my video was not finished. Up until today, I purchased a white board, and I'm planning to do it soon, to celebrate a certain event!
Thanks guys, and I hope you can tolerate my MIA for the moment. I'm going to reveal my life soon! Not sure when, but stay tuned for the video!

Missing since April 3rd
Hey guys! I'm really sorry that I have not been posting any blogs now, because I've been busy trying to film a tutorial, but it went wrong, so I took a break.
Okay, so I'm sorry I've been missing for a long time, and I just want you all to know, that I AM still active, I'm just not writing.
I AM REDESIGNING MY BLOG AGAIN!
Yep, Barefoot in Paris now will have its very own blog template and soon, I hope I'll have my own domain. But for now, I am in the midst of redesigning my header. So, I hope you all will keep up with me, and that you can stay tuned to my new template. Just for you to know, I am NOT redesigning on this blog, in fear that I might mess it all up, SO, I decided to create a tester blog.
Click Here to view the testing Blog
Um, forgot to tell you guys, that you cannot view the tester blog yet, because if I am not done, I will not publicly open it. I will, tell you guys more about my journey to creating a whole new blog from scratch and when I'm done, I would like all of you to just give me loads of feedback!
Please do not be surprised, my new template might be a bit simple, its because I do not want to pile up so much on my blog. That is all!
Bye guys, thanks for supporting me!
UPDATE
Hey guys! Sorry to say that the redesigning blog will not be up and going for all to see in LONG time, another blog post about that coming up!
